Wire Manufacturing

Diamond wire loop welding

The joint is one of the most important parts of an endless diamond wire loop. It must carry tensile load, survive bending cycles, and pass through guide wheels without disturbing the cut.

Why the joint is critical

Literature on looped diamond wire welding notes that the loop format removes reciprocating reversal but introduces a new requirement: the wire ends must be joined reliably.

A weak joint may fail under tension. A bulky or uneven joint may create vibration, marks, or accelerated wear as it passes over wheels.

Process variables

Studies discuss welding capacitance, welding voltage, heat treatment temperature, and response surface optimization as factors that influence breaking force and joint quality.

For purchasing, it is practical to ask how the loop joint is made, how it is inspected, and whether the supplier can provide breaking-force or fatigue-related evidence.
